What is Freeze Dried?
Freeze drying is an extremely expensive science that gives the processor the ability to make a treat that still retains all of the natural Salmon nutrients and simply eliminates the water. That’s right! With freeze drying, WildSideSalmon can keep the Omegas we’ve all heard about, the fabulous proteins and amino acids that help keep both pets and people healthy and happy! It seems that the good stuff remains and all that is lost is the water! The results are a treat that's easy to handle, tempting texture, requires NO refrigeration, and has an impressive shelf life. How do I store Wildside Salmon?
First make sure it is out of your cat's reach! DO NOT refrigerate. Doing so will draw moisture. For best results store in an airtight zip-lock baggie.
Why is the Pouch so light?
First reactions are always interesting: "Hey! This Pouch is empty!" is one we often hear. Since we've removed the water through the freeze-drying process, we've also removed the weight! Water is heavy and once removed, it leaves behind very little in the way of weight. Imagine, if you will, that your body is around 98% water! A one-ounce retail pouch of WildSideSalmon treats contains over 60 treats!
How I discovered Wildside:
Simple. I had a 17-year-old cat that had kidney problems. She often would not eat without some coaxing. I wanted her to enjoy her last days with good food and good treats, when I accidentally stumbled across the product. She loved it. I could break up one of the small cubes over her wet cat food and that would get her started. The only problem was that I had to give treats to the other cats too. More proof that cats love it. I took a few pieces to my neighbor. Her cat loved it too. We decided to go in together to save on shipping. (A pretty good Idea.) Before long I loved the results so much I decided to retail it myself. Since I am already licensed as Retailer in my state it and registered with the township etc. I decided to add Wildside Salmon as a product.
How often can I give it?
As often as your cat would like but, I found that it is best to rotate on cat treats. My cats are extremely spoiled and like change. If I hold back on a treat for a few days, it wont be long until they go wild over it once again. I will soon be adding other cat treats to this website.

Our mission was and continues to be a simple one.
First, find a way to reduce the waste in Alaska from fish hatcheries (not to be confused with fish farms!) that have a market for the excess salmon roe or eggs and no market for the fish left over.
Second, make a product of the highest quality that will have healthy benefits for Dogs & Cats. This goodie needs to be convenient to use and have the ability to drive them Wild!
The mission seemed simple enough, until we began to dig into the details. The initial response from our tests came directly from animal guardians themselves (we're certain they had help from there canine and feline partners.) A resounding howl of success was heard. We had a supply of raw material, we had test results indicating salmon treats would be a success, we had the "paws up" from the veterinarian community! Now all we needed to do was develop a marking plan, figure out the logistics, develop packaging and come up with catchy name. Whoa! Did I say the mission seemed simple?!
There were so many hurdles to jump through and special processes to develop that I often decided to give up and go back to my day job of 18 years, selling Wild Salmon to people. Thankfully I came to my senses and set my sights on the new horizon. My wife and I mortgaged the house, cleaned out our savings, (she kept her day job) and I emBARKED on the journey that has become WildSideSalmon.
